Welcome to the

Grandview Chamber of Commerce

Who are we?

The Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization established to serve the business community by promoting a positive business environment and encouraging economic growth, leadership, education, and interaction.

Let's talk about the purpose of your local Chamber (that's us! Grandview Chamber of Commerce!). No matter what your business or industry is, support is key. Creating a community with other businesses in the area can help your organization succeed. There are many resources that we all tap into, like online groups or social media, but a largely untapped resource is on the community level. The Grandview Chamber of Commerce can be a huge untapped resource.

Incorporated in 1962, the Grandview Chamber of Commerce serves as a support agency for nearly 200 businesses and organizations and counting. Our 19-member board, committees, and staff understand that the more involved a business is in its local community, the more support it will receive.

  • One of the Kansas City Metro Area’s best-kept secrets is out: Grandview is a great place to be. So great, in fact, that Grandview Mayor Leonard Jones graced the cover of the March 11, 2022, edition of Kansas City Business Journal with the headline “Grandview Miracle.”

Grandview isn’t a miracle, but the result of a vision and years of hard work that all started with a dedication to investing in City infrastructure. Since 2016, the City has been awarded millions in federal and state grant dollars to renovate Main Street, improve Botts industrial, and provide more commercial access along I-49 with the newly completed Outer Roads Conversion Project.

The 2020 Census shows our population numbers at 26,209. That’s a 5.4% increase in just one year! Since 2017 the City has added more than 450 housing units. Several subdivisions have now been fully built out including Fountain Lakes and Hillside Grand. One popular subdivision, Sunrise Farms, along HWY 150 is about to get more than 40 new homes as crews wrap up work on new streets, and sewers. Grandview has seen more than $40 million in construction for four consecutive years and shows no signs of slowing down.

All this new construction can be seen in the City’s total market value which has nearly doubled since 2018 to just over $1.8 billion. All this growth allowed the City to ask voters to approve a $21 million no-tax increase bond package last April. All three questions passed with over 80% approval! These dollars will be used on renovations for City Hall, Police, and Fire Departments; but most of the money will be used to improve City streets, including resurfacing an estimated 20%-30% of streets.

Grandview definitely has more: More drivers on the streets, more families taking in the beautiful parks, more shoppers at Truman’s Marketplace and Main Street, more houses going up, and more businesses opening. Grandview is certainly growing! We invite everyone to be a part of our inspiring transformation and Grow with Grandview.

  • The Grandview Area Chamber is made up of 200+ members and over 300 representatives. About two-thirds of our members are located in Grandview. The remaining members hail from South Kansas City, Belton, Raymore, Lee’s Summit, and Johnson County, Kansas.

Our membership is made up of small businesses and large employers, representing retail, service, and industry. About half of our membership has five or fewer employees, but we also have many members that have 200 or more employees thanks to the strong industrial base that calls Grandview home.

Our organization has a full-time staff with years of experience in the business as either a paid staff person or a volunteer for a chamber organization. We manage a budget of $200,000 and are governed by a 19-member Board of Directors, elected to represent their segment of the membership.

The Grandview Chamber also has a strong Economic Development Council, a division of the Chamber, with a membership of over 30 public and private businesses that support that effort. The main focus of GAEDC is to provide business retention and expansion services as well as work with the City’s Economic Development and Community Development Departments in recruiting new businesses to the community.
