City of Grandview
The City of Grandview is a council-manager form of government that has both an elected governing body and an appointed city manager. Grandview has three separate geographical wards, each with two representatives, and a city-wide elected Mayor. As the governing body of the City, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen have the authority to give final approval to most development applications, hold public hearings, make the final decisions on Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Zoning & Subdivision Text Amendments, Rezonings, Conceptual Development Plans, Planned Developments (PD), Conditional Use Permits, and Final Plat.

Grandview C-4 Board of Education
The Board of Education is a seven member representative body elected by the registered voters of the Grandview C-4 School District of Jackson County. An annual school board election is held in April each year. School board members are volunteers that receive no compensation for serving on the Board. The role of the Board of Education is to exercise general supervision over the district, and to ensure that the schools are maintained as provided by the state statutes, the rules and regulations of the Missouri State Board of Education and/or the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the policies, rules and regulations of the school district. The Board adopts policies for the governance of the District, with responsibility for implementing Board policy and day-to-day operations of the District delegated to the superintendent. The Board has the authority to take official action only when a minimum of four members are present.

Jackson County
Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota - Phil LeVota was selected on October 13, 2025, by the Jackson County Legislature as County Executive to serve out the remainder of Frank White, Jr.’s term. LeVota is a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He graduated from Truman High School, Central Missouri State University, Baker University, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He was appointed assistant Jackson County Prosecutor in 1996 by Claire McCaskill and opened his private practice in 2006.
Jackson County Legislature - Six County Legislators are elected from six local districts of similar size, each representing about 1/6 of the County’s constituents. Three County Legislators are elected from three "at-large" districts of similar size. Every citizen in Jackson County is there-by represented by two County Legislators. The County Legislature is responsible for all legislative duties in the County, including the introduction and enaction of all County resolutions. They are also responsible for the introduction and enaction of all County ordinances subject to the approval or veto of the County Executive. A veto by the Executive can be overridden by six votes of the Legislature.
The County Legislature meets once a week, at the Jackson County Courthouse in Kansas City.
State of Missouri
Governor Mike Kehoe - Governor Kehoe served four-and-a-half years on the Missouri Highway & Transportation Commission. He also served in the Missouri Senate, where he worked to balance budgets, fully fund schools, and champion laws protecting Missouri’s children and seniors. As Senate Majority Floor Leader, he advocated for reducing regulatory burdens, cutting taxes, and creating jobs.
Senator Patty Lewis, 7th District - Senator Patty Lewis represents District 7 in the Missouri Senate. She was elected to the Senate in November 2024. She previously served two terms in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Representative Anthony Ealy, 36th District - State Representative Anthony Ealy, Jr., a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 36) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2022. Ealy is the first Black Representative to represent the city of Grandview, and the youngest representative to represent the district as a whole.
